I believe that mentorship is imperative to increase the number of under-represented minorities in medicine. It is imperative that we reach back and lift as we climb. As a first generation college student, and the first person in my family to attain a medical degree, I know first hand how hard this journey can be  when you're the first one doing it. I would not be where I am today without selfless mentors who believed in me and poured into me at every stage of my journey. I am committed to doing the same.

I like to give my mentees as much of my individual attention as possible and my goal is to foster a relationship in which we can both thrive. With that in mind, I do limit the number of mentees I take on at a time, and therefore will not always be able to fulfill requests.
